چکیده
Physicochemical properties of Agricultural soil samples from Ishielu LGA were determined using standard methods. Twenty-four used for the analyses. The collected at 0 – 20 cm and 40 twelve locations. result mechanical analysis showed that sandy-clay-loam top sub-soil. Chemical mean values exchangeable acidity (EA), effective cation exchange capacity (ECEC) base saturation (BS) 0.76 mg/kg, 9.68 mg/kg 91.82 % respectively top-soil while sub-soil 0.075 8.78 91.40 respectively. mineral (mg/kg) Ca, Mg, K, Na, P N 5.80, 2.87, 0.18, 0.07, 53.42 0.09 5.33, 2.40, 0.19, 0.11, 51.37 0.12 heavy metals’ analyses all metal below Environmental Protection Agency, EPA, 2015 values. This shows is safe use.

Physicochemical Parameters in Soil and Vegetable Samples from Gongulon Agricultural Site, Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria
Anthropogenic activities are a leading cause of metal emission, often associated with high elevated soil and plant metal concentrations. The accumulation of heavy metals and anions in soil and vegetables in the vicinity of Gungulung agricultural site were investigated. Soil samples were collected at depths of 0-5 cm, 5-10 and 10-20 cm. Soil properties including pH, electrical conductivity (EC),...

Background: Natural radionuclides are always present in the environment. Human exposure to the background radiation is inevitable. It is therefore important to assess health risk associated with these radionuclides. Materials and Methods: The distribution of natural radionuclides 238U, 232Th and 40K in soil samples collected from all the twenty (20) local Governments headquarter areas in Ogun s...
متن کاملSawah Rice System, a Technology for Sustainable Rice Production and Soil Chemical Properties Improvement in Ebonyi State of Southeastern Nigeria
The soils in Ebonyi State agro-ecological zones of southeastern Nigeria are plagued with characteristics that impede optimal crop production. Failures in agricultural development in this part of southeastern Nigeria may have been caused by the inability of the farmers to develop the abundant inland valleys for such crops like rice using appropriate water management systems. In order to arrest t...
